Copenhagen Business School (CBS) was founded in 1917.

CBS is a highly reputed institution of research and higher education internationally and one of the largest business schools in Europe with more than 13,500 students and nearly 350 full-time academic staff. CBS enrolls approximately one half of all business students in Denmark.

Internationalization, innovation and technology are hallmarks of the school's strategy first adopted in the late 1980's. As testimony to its commitment to this strategy, CBS offers two to three new educational programs each year and collaborates with over 75 other universities on all continents.

In 1998 CBS established a Research Center for Electronic Commerce in order to form an organizational entity dedicated to research in e-business and e-transformation. The Center has six senior research staff members and eight Ph.D. students. The Center works closely with industry in developing strategies, tools and techniques for the rapid exploitation of e-commerce, e-business and e-management.
