GeM 8760 Managerial Finance in the New Economy |
|||||
| This course
builds upon the fundamental finance concepts, tools and methodologies
introduced in GeM 8750 and extends them to the context of the New Economy
and its technological environment.
The focus will be on typical objectives, tasks and decisions made by
finance managers in e-business companies, thereby applying an external as
well as an internal view. |
Furthermore a
discussion of financial markets and institutions and how they have innovated
through the use of internet-based transactions will be presented. Special
emphasis will be given to how innovations in trading technologies at the
investor and exchange level as well as the impact of globalization have
affected market microstructure factors like security pricing or price
volatility.
Treatment of these topics involves theoretical concepts as well as real-world examples and case studies. |
