GeM 8910 Selected Topics in Enterprise Transformation |
|||||
|
This course provides students in the program with an opportunity to select a set of topics that they believe are relevant to their professional advancement and wish to have covered as part of their overall program. It provides the students with an opportunity to customize their learning experience within an executive-format program that typically doesn’t provide the normal means for doing this, i.e. elective courses.
The course would occur at the end of the program (last minimester before the project). At the end of the fourth minimester, the students would develop a prioritized list of topics they, as a group, wish to have presented. Each of the topics selected would span at least two weeks (or 1/3) of the course and preferably more.
Once the topics have been chosen, faculty or outside lecturers are recruited to facilitate the discussion on the selected topic. |
The mode of instruction will vary by the topic chosen and the individual
selected, preferably with input from the students themselves (who might, for
example, prefer to see the topic handled by way of cases, site visitations,
lectures, and/or mini-projects with mentoring).
Each topic will have a deliverable associated with it from each of the previously formed GeM student teams. The nature of this deliverable will be decided with initial input from the students when they propose the prioritized list of topics. In short, they will be responsible, in the first instance for both the topics proposed as well as the nature of the deliverable associated with the topic. |
