Implementing e-Technology Applications

 

This course introduces students to the development of e-business applications.

 

Beginning with the core technologies that

facilitate e-business application development, it goes on to focus on concepts and methods necessary for designing, developing and

deploying business-to-consumer and business-to-business ecommerce applications.

 

The course also provides an overview of emerging technologies for e-business application development.

 

Computerizing business-to-consumer as well as business-to-business transactions is a prerequisite for e-business. A number of

technologies underlie this computerization. These include content creation tools, database tools, user interface generation tools,

secure payment systems, push technologies, search technologies, etc.

 

Not only are these technologies necessary to assemble e-business applications, but they also become catalysts for new business ideas.

 

This course will provide students with basic knowledge about these technologies with a view to understanding how they may be exploited for successful e-business.
